Rigging & Simulating Characters, Creatures, Props

Personal project rigs for real-time systems. First project was for a short cinematic collaboration project with three other talented technical artists. The second project was all original to test the mGear and ueGear game engine workflow . For the next project, I created a rig for a creature based on Ursula. In the next project, I modeled and rigged a creature inspired by Momo from Avatar the Last Airbender. Next is a Clash Royale inspired prop model and rig. I also showcase simulations, scripting, and tools.

Ravenous Sky (Capstone Game Development)

Wanderlust Studios, FIEA

Roles: Rigging Artist, Technical Artist

Ravenous Sky is a third person fantastical post-apocalyptic traversal adventure game. You play as a wanderer being called to the eye of a massive hurricane adjacent storm by an unknown voice. The main gameplay involves flying between islands, dodging debris, and anchoring yourself to the ground. The game is being created by a team of 22 over 9 months as a final capstone project at the Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy.

Scripted Rigging Tools

Personal & Animator Use

Language: Python

I have used python scripting in Maya to create tools for myself and others to use while rigging! These tools include easy controller manipulation, mGear segment integration buttons, and an easy way to constrain weapons / props to any character's right or left hand. The prop constrain tool has been configured to have the easy installation method of dragging and dropping into any empty maya scene.

Superstitious

University of Central Florida

Roles: Rigging Lead, Environment Lead

I worked on a team of 10 for my undergraduate capstone film project at the University of Central Florida. The project is a 5-minute, 3D animated short film. Our team worked from preproduction all the way through production and post production using Maya, Blender, Substance Painter, Houdini, Photoshop, Nuke, and Premiere Pro.

FIEA

Role: Technical Artist

I have four rapid game developments encompassed here. On the first project, I served as the overall project lead for a team of 6 people. I contributed rigs, sequences, vfx, lighting, state machines, and overall pipeline asset integration into Unreal Engine. The second game was created in two weeks, and I created the characters and state machines. The next project was the product of a 48 hour game jam. For the last project, I created most of the 3D assets and a rig to be used in VR.
